Ubuntu Linux for scientists and science students. Scibuntu is not just
another Linux distribution. It is a script that adds scientific programs and
other convinient tools to the plain desktop Ubuntu.

How do I get and use Scibuntu


   1. Install Ubuntu 6.06 LTS
   2. Start Synaptic (under System -- Administration in the menue) and
   make Multiverse and Universe repositories available. You can even edit
   /etc/apt/sources.list if it makes more sense to you.
   3. Download Scibuntu
   4. make Scibuntu executable chmod a+x scibuntu
   5. Run it: sudo ./scibuntu Running scibuntu can take some time and
   some of the installations require a little bit of interaction.
